Good gracious, do I love adoption. It’s brought all kinds of hard to our lives, but it has also brought a thousand gifts. High on the gift list is friendships. This precious family fills me up and over with joy. Because I adore them as people. Because they served our kiddos in Sunday school at church. Because we served together in a church adoption/foster ministry. Because they have tender hearts. And because we got to watch the whole process of adoption unfold in their hearts and lives. We got to answer their questions, cheer them on, buy their fundraising t-shirts, and pray our guts for them. Good gracious, lucky us.
Meet the Briscoes, Kelly, Britt and precious little Eleanor.
Type of adoption:
We chose to do a domestic adoption for our first kiddo. She was born in Kansas.
Adjectives to describe adoption:
raw, humbling, vulnerable
Advice to hopeful adoptive families:
Keep an open mind. When we are closed off to many things in the process, we aren’t truly allowing God to do the work He’s called us to. Be open to new relationships. Be open to new emotions (they will come). And be open to the ways that others lives.
